Guess the Date

Guess the date of a historical event in six tries. Each digit tells you whether it is in the right spot, somewhere else or not in the date at all, and at the end you learn what happened that day.

1. Guess the date of a historical event in six tries. There is a new date every day, the same for everyone.
2. Type the date as day, month and year (DD/MM/YYYY) on the on-screen keypad or your computer keyboard, and submit it with Enter. It has to be a real date between the year 1000 and today.
3. Each digit changes color: green if it is in the right spot, yellow if it appears somewhere else and red if it is not in the date. Digits can repeat.
4. If you get stuck, ask for the hint: it tells you which event happened that day. When you share your result, it shows that you used it.
5. When the game ends you learn what happened that day and why it matters. A tip: the day never goes past 31 and the month never past 12, so the day starts with 0, 1, 2 or 3 and the month with 0 or 1.
